XC Skiing and Snowshoeing at Castle Mountain Chalets

Castle Mountain Chalets is pleased to provide 20+ km of groomed and trackset trails for use by hikers, snow shoers and cross country skiiers. Our dedicated professional grooming equipent is capable of producing firm, fast and immaculatly groomed snow surface for anyone wanting to explore trails at the foot of Castle Mountian. Trails at Castle Junction meander through forests, meadows and adjacent to the Bow River.

Castle Junction is host to some of the most unique and scenic cross country ski trails in the Bow Valley. Glide through quiet forest trails surrounding Castle Mountain Chalets in the company of chirping birds and foraging forest creatures. Snowshoeing on groomed trails makes for easy exploration in the pristine mountain air as you explore towering forests, bubbling creeks and discover the signs of different animals who also travel the trails. Snowshoe Rentals

Snowshoe rentals are available at the front desk $15 per person per day, or book one of our Snowshoe packages which includes Accommodation, Snowshoes, Coffee and Granola Bars from $163. See our Special Offers page for more details.

XC Ski Rentals

Weather and Waxes

Check out the latest weather with our dedicated onsite weather station and purchase your SWIX wax at the General Store. Our indoor waxing room provides all the equipment required to prep skis and boards for your next day out.
